CAPTE is an accrediting agency that is nationally recognized and grants specialized accreditation status to qualified entry-level education programs for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.

Access the directory of accredited physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education programs, bridge programs, and developing programs, as well as the master lists of physical therapy programs, which includes currently and previously accredited education programs.

As part of the CAPTE accreditation review process, institutions host an onsite evaluation of the program under consideration.  Each spring and fall, CAPTE  meets to make accreditation decisions.  At its spring meeting, the Commission reviews programs that hosted a fall onsite visit. These programs have admitted at least one class of students and have been granted Candidate for Accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Candidacy status indicates that a program is making satisfactory progress toward compliance with accreditation criteria,

These programs are placed on this list when the Department of Accreditation is officially notified that a Program Director has been employed. These programs are in the early stages of development; no students have been admitted.
