Developing Programs Workshop

This workshop focuses on information essential for institutions developing a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant education program.This includes an overview of the accreditation process, CAPTE’s expectations relevant to the 2024 Standards and Required Elements, and the required evidence of compliance. The Program Director and at least one higher-level institutional administrator must attend the Developing Program Workshop before submitting the Application for Candidacy.

A review of a recorded webinar will NOT satisfy the attendance requirement for submitting an Application for Candidacy.

PTA Developing Program Virtual Workshop:
The workshop includes an overview of the accreditation process and the specific expectations of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) related to the 2024 PTA Standards and Required Elements.

This workshop is designed for physical therapist assistant education programs to prepare a Self-study Report and undergo a successful programmatic review. Administrators, program directors, faculty, and reviewers who attend this workshop will learn about CAPTE's expectations for compliance with the 2024 Standards and Required Elements. 

CAPTE PTA Virtual Self-study Workshop:
This workshop is designed to assist physical therapist assistant education program administrators and faculty in obtaining or maintaining programmatic accreditation.

PT Programs Self-Study Workshop

This workshop is designed for physical therapist assistant education programs to prepare a Self-study Report and undergo a successful programmatic review. Administrators, program directors, faculty, and reviewers who take this workshop will obtain information about CAPTE's expectations for compliance with the 2024 Standards and Required Elements. 

CAPTE PT Virtual Self-Study Workshop:
This workshop involves asynchronous module completion and three 3.5 hour synchronous virtual sessions and is designed to assist physical therapist education program administrators, program directors, faculty, and reviewers to obtain information about the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education’s (CAPTE’s) expectations for compliance with the 2024 Standards and Required Elements for Physical Therapist Education Programs, prepare a Self-study Report, and undergo a successful programmatic review.

Program Reviewer Training

A successful accreditation process requires competent reviewers who objectively evaluate information provided by the institution or program which leads to a decision about compliance with specified standards and awarding an accreditation status by CAPTE.

Participants make their own travel arrangements and hotel accommodations for in-person workshops. The APTA Centennial Center is approximately one mile from the Ronald Reagan National Airport. Parking is available on-site at the APTA Centennial Center for $20 per day.
