Accreditation Workshops and Reviewer Training

Accreditation Workshops   Travel Arrangements Participants make their own travel arrangements and hotel accommodations. The APTA Centennial Center is approximately one mile from the Ronald Reagan National Airport. Parking is available on-site at the APTA Centennial Center. Parking cost is $20 per day.

Accreditation Process

Accreditation is a voluntary process. Physical therapy education programs desiring accreditation status apply to CAPTE and must first achieve candidacy status before being considered for initial accreditation status.

Accreditation is a process used in the US to assure the quality of the education that students receive. It is a voluntary, nongovernmental, peer-review process that occurs on a regular basis.

Cadre of Program Reviewers

The Cadre of Program Reviewers consists of approximately 180 PTs, PTAs, and higher education administrators. Each member of the program review team, whether a document reviewer or on-site reviewer has completed hybrid training course to learn about CAPTE's expectations as well as how to conduct a program
