| General Program Description |
| The program begins in the fall, and summer sessions are offered from June through August. Commencement is in May. |
Clinical Experiences Clinical experiences begin the summer semester between the first and second year. That summer, students begin a 4 week, full time, clinical affiliation. Subsequently, during the spring semester, the students finish two six week, full time, clinical affiliations with two different clinical sites. |
Faculty There are two full-time faculty members and one part time adjunct faculty member. The faculty to student ratio is 1:24 maximum for lecture courses and 1:12 maximum for laboratory classes. |
Enrollment Washburn University has an average enrollment of 7,000. The PTA program accepts up to 24 students to start each August. |
Admission For fall acceptance, the earliest date for submission of application is November 1, and the latest date is February 1. Admission is on a rolling basis. 45% of qualified applicants are admitted to the program (3-year average). |
Outcomes 88% of admitted students graduate from the program (3-year average); 97% of the graduates passed the licensure exam (3-year average); and 95% of those program graduates responding to surveys are employed (3-year average); the first time pass rate for the Class of 2010 was 95%. |
Tuition, fees and financial aid Tuition for 2010-2011 academic year is $207 per credit hour for Kansas Residents, with an additional $43 for activity expense per semester, and room and board costs begin at $5292 for full time students. Out of state tuition is $470 per credit hour. |
Student life The campus dormitories house 674 students, and the fraternities and sororities house 250. Intercollegiate athletics include men's football, basketball, tennis, golf, and baseball; and women's basketball, volleyball, tennis, soccer and softball. The campus is located near Kansas City, and the Topeka Airport is located 5 miles away. Kansas City International is located 70 miles away. The campus is served by bus and taxi. |
