The CAPTE Accreditation Process depends on the commitment of numerous volunteers, who undertake the important work of providing peer review of physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education programs. The volunteer groups include the CAPTE members and the Cadre of Onsite Reviewers. Both groups are supported by staff of APTA.
- Onsite & Candidacy Visits
Approximately 70 visits to accredited and developing programs are scheduled each year. See the schedule or provide comments about any of the programs scheduled to be visited.
- CAPTE Meetings
CAPTE has two regular meetings a year, typically in late April and late October/early November; the Central Panel also meets in late July to make Candidacy decisions as needed.
- Workshops
Accreditation staff provide workshops for faculty of developing and accredited programs. The workshops are offered three times a year in conjunction with the major meetings typically attended by faculty: Combined Sections Meeting, Annual Conference and Education Leadership Conference.
